Bharat Group is the brainchild of a visionary Sat Narain Gupta, one of the pioneers of agrochemicals industry in India. Active in this arena since 1977, he initially floated Bharat Pesticides Manufacturing Company. In this venture, he found two like-minded partners in, Mahabir Prasad Gupta and Rajender Prasad Gupta. Today, their joint efforts have borne rich fruits as Bharat Group has created a niche in diverse segments of pest control within the country and abroad too.

Banking on their rich collective experience of over 40 years, the trio promoted a mega insecticides company, Bharat Rasayan Limited (BRL) [CIN:L24119DL1989PLC036264]. Currently, BRL is the flagship enterprise of the conglomerate alongside the two sister concerns, Bharat Insecticides Limited (BIL) [CIN:U74899DL1985PLC020210] and BR Agrotech Limited (BRAL) [U74899DL2000PLC103860].The products portfolio consists of a wide spectrum of high quality eco-friendly pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, acaricides etc. to cater to every arena in the agricultural sector of crops (food and commercial), horticulture and floriculture, in applications for public health, house-keeping and veterinary treatment besides loss prevention in warehouses, depots and granaries. Apart from these, the group has also forayed into the packaging industry on an encouraging note.

The aggregate Gross Turnover of the three companies for fiscal 2017-18 stood at Rs 1568 crores in which BRL had the lion’s share at Rs 810.40 crores followed by BIL (Rs 368.14 crores) and BRAL (Rs 339.41 crores)

While the corporate headquarters are in New Delhi, the manufacturing units are located in Bahadurgarh and Rohtak (Haryana), Dahej (Gujarat), Kathua (J&K) and Kala Amb (H.P). Plans are afoot to modernize the currently redundant unit near Medak in Telangana. With these assorted activities, the group manned by a workforce of over 2500 trained and experienced personnel has synergized operations for diversified products mix through inter-linked business processes. Spread over well planned and expansive built-up area, the production plants of the three companies are equipped with state-of-art process systems and machinery.

Top most priority has been assigned to industrial safety, regulated operations and environmental protection. EHS (environment, health and safety) guidelines have been tailored to prevent hazards and risks for each plant as per site-specific variables.

The BRL’s two units at Mokhra near Rohtak and Dahej in Gujarat have excelled in their targeted production. Likewise BIL from its two units in Bahadurgarh and Kathua has been consistent in its output for wettable powder (WP) and generic granules (GR). Even with an average 50% utilization of its installed capacity, the Kathua plant of BRAL produces ample powder and liquid formulations as well as granules. The PET bottling plant at Kala Amb has notched an outstanding record of 100% utilization of its capacity.

Each of these units has an analytical laboratory to ensure high degree of quality in the products. Bharat Group’s R&D facilities have been recognized by the Government of India’s Ministry of Science & Technology. A major project to formulate new eco-friendly molecules and processes is in progress. Over 200 products have been registered with the Central Insecticides Board and around 100 brands have the Trade Mark tags. The products are periodically assessed under the statutory WHOPES (WHO Pesticide Evaluation Scheme).

All the three companies have ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications for compliance of prescribed standards in performance while BRL has an additional feather in the cap with OHS 18001:2007. Leading global bio-science companies have entered into technical collaborations with the group for latest eco-friendly formulations and products.

Bharat Group exports its products to over 60 countries. Around 200 products are registered in various countries. It has been crowned with prestigious National Awards for Excellence in Exports and also rated as a Star Trading House by the Government of India. With a nationwide network of 23 offices, the group has best storage facilities in different states and a chain of more than 30,000 dealers and 3,500 distributors besides tie-ups with third parties.
